On 22 and 23 October, researcher Laura Leja and software engineer Guntis V. Strazds participated in a scientific publications retreat organized by the Doctoral School to encourage PhD students to focus more on the development of scientific articles.

In this intensive two-day workshop, we explored with other participants the different writing techniques and stages of scientific publication. We covered topics such as scientific language style, writing productivity and effective collaboration with co-authors. The retreat was a great opportunity to work on our publications in a focused way and to develop skills that contribute to the impact of our work in the scientific community. The lecture was moderated by a talented guest speaker from Germany – Dr. Martina Michalikova, author of WritingScientist.com articles (more info: https://writingscientist.com/).

The opportunity to work face-to-face with like-minded colleagues provided additional motivation during the workshop, strengthening the bond between researchers and giving new impetus to further professional development. he knowledge gained on effective structure of scientific articles, collaboration with co-authors and targeted communication will be useful for high quality and timely production of publications and reports in our existing projects Rolise(https://www.edi.lv/projects/viedo-materialu-fotonikas-tehnologiju-un-inzenierijas-ekosistema-mote/) un AIMS5.0(https://www.edi.lv/projects/maksligais-intelekts-razosana-kas-veicina-ilgtspejibu-un-industriju-5-0-aims5-0/).
