Until September 1, startups can apply for the “Urban Mobility Pre-accelerator” support program from September 12 to November 12. Within the program, teams will participate in various lectures and workshops on important factors for the development of a startup, such as intellectual property, financial attraction, product piloting and other issues. The program is intended for already incorporated start-ups.
European cities are increasingly facing the challenge of improving urban mobility by providing higher accessibility and creating high-quality and efficient transport systems while reducing congestion, pollution, and accidents. Practice shows that startups are the groundbreakers with the gut to find effective, innovative and scalable solutions to such challenges. Thus, within the framework of innovation ecosystem development, it is also important to promote support for start-ups.
Viesturs Celminņš, director of the innovation movement VEFRESH and urban planner, points out that “There are many challenges for mobility start-ups at the early stage of development. Many teams can cope with them independently, while others require advice and support from professionals in the field. The VEFRESH-run startup support program “Urban Mobility Pre-accelerator” provides teams with mentoring, advice and an individual approach to accelerate the growth of teams and reduce the risks associated with developing and demonstrating innovative products.”
“Urban Mobility Pre-accelerator” is a bridge that helps start-ups move from early development phases to business stabilisation and growth. It is intended for Baltic and European startups that want to develop their product or service, attract additional funding, participate in various support programs, such as acceleration programs, and get to the next stage of business development. Only six teams will get into the support program.
As part of the program, start-ups will participate in lectures and workshops on various topics related to business development and workshops with representatives of industry experts from the local and regional start-up development ecosystem. In addition, participants will be able to apply for individual mentoring sessions. The program will be conducted in a hybrid format, depending on the startup’s needs.
