Abstract: For the classical peak detector circuit, built on a modern element base and designed to measure the amplitude of pulses of nanosecond duration, mathematically, using the Laplace transform, an equivalent circuit is described, which additionally includes parasitic capacitors and inductances. Based on the results of the analysis of the characteristics of the equivalent circuit, recommendations are made to increase the measurement accuracy when it is possible to reduce the limit of the duration of the measured pulses.
