On 27 November, more than forty first-year students studying physics at the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Latvia came to the “Institute of Electronics and Computer Science” for a familiarisation visit. Several innovative technologies and solutions developed in recent years by scientists in five EDI laboratories were explained and demonstrated.
– Image processing and AI applications
– Extremely precise event timing and Ultra Sound technologies
– Wearable devices
– Biometrics system
– Remote sensing technologies , geospatial image analysis
– Internet of Things technologies
– Embedded systems
– Radar technologies
– Robot and drone systems
– Self-driving car.
The scientists were happy to answer students’ questions. Most questions were about robotics solutions and self-driving cars, as well as artificial intelligence solutions.
Student internship opportunities at the EDI were also discussed.
