This year, the EDI International Advisory Board met for an intensive two-day session. The members of the Scientific Council of the Institute, including the Director of EDI Modris Greitāns, the Deputy Director for Development Kaspars Ozols and the Chairman of the Scientific Council Roberts Kadiķis, presented the objectives, tasks and major challenges of the Institute. The agenda also included introductions of the Institute’s new senior staff, Deputy Director for Administration Iveta Rubika, Chief Accountant Mara Riba, Chief Engineer Ģirts Budevics and Public Relations Officer Santa Dunaiska.
In order to provide a more complete picture of the situation of the Institute, the main activities of both last year and this year, the main challenges for the coming year, the actions taken to follow up on the recommendations made by the Board members in the previous meeting, the numerical results achieved and the new targets set were presented.
The members of the Council praised EDI for its contribution to science and for promoting Latvia’s name in the sector abroad. In order to successfully achieve its goals in the future, the Board made valuable suggestions that could further strengthen the activities and growth of the EDI in science.
The members of the EDI International Advisory Board were Jānis Paiders (Ministry of Education and Science), Anna Ryabokon (Infineon Technologies), Thiemo Voigt (RISE Research Institutes of Sweden) and Jean Luc Di Paola Galloni (Valeo Group), Aiga Irmeja (Latvian Information Technology Cluster).
