On March 6, 2025, the Icebreakers’25 business opportunity festival took place at the University of Latvia’s House of Science. It brought together students, scientists, and entrepreneurs to foster idea exchange, innovation, and collaboration between the academic, public, and private sectors.

As part of the festival, Dr. Kaspars Ozols, Deputy Director for Development and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI), participated in the BioPhoT platform partners’ experience exchange on innovation commercialization. Leading Latvian research institutions shared their insights on turning ideas into actual products and how research institutions can support emerging and established businesses.

In his presentation, “EDI’s Scientific Excellence and Competence – Supporting Business Innovation,” Dr. Ozols showcased EDI’s experience in technology transfer and innovation development, helping businesses create new products and solutions.

The Icebreakers’25 festival was organized by the University of Latvia’s Innovation and Acceleration Center and offered a diverse program for those interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, and science commercialization.
