From February 5 to 6, 2025, Dr. Kaspars Ozols, Deputy Director for Development and leading researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI), is participating in the Horizon Europe Chips-JU project ” Digitalization of Power Electronic Applications within Key Technology Value Chains (PowerizeD)” review meeting in Budapest, Hungary. The meeting brings together leading experts and partners from various European research and industry organizations to discuss and evaluate the results achieved during the project’s second year.

During the meeting, special focus is placed on the progress of research and development and on promoting innovation opportunities in the field of power electronics, which is strategically important for Europe’s technological advancement and competitiveness. Dr. Ozols delivers two presentations: “Quality, Progress, and Risk Management” and “Unlocking Innovation: Research Collaboration within PowerizeD”.

In addition, to showcase the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science’s scientific contribution, EDI’s research results are presented both through presentations and a poster. The topics highlighted include “Differential Privacy for Federated Learning Systems” and “Optimization Approaches for Optimal Gate Current Profiles for Power MOSFETs.” These studies underscore EDI’s active involvement in high-tech development and its significant role within the European research ecosystem.
