On October 25, 2024, the Deputy Director of Development and Senior Researcher of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Sciences (EDI) Dr. Kaspars Ozols participated in the National Competitiveness Forum, which took place in Riga Castle. The event was opened with a speech by the President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs. This was followed by a Keynote speech by Lars Frelund, followed by several panel discussions trying to find answers to the following questions: “Intellectual capital of science and innovation: a breakthrough in the knowledge economy?”, “Data availability and digitalization: how to build a foundation for data-based decisions”, “Capacity in public administration and implementation of OECD recommendations: How effective is the Latvian public administration?”. At the end of the event, a conversation took place between the President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs and the Chairman of the National Competitiveness Commission Arnis Sauka. During the event, Dr. K.Ozols asked questions, as well as discussed relevant topics and networked with the forum participants.
