From December 5 to 6, 2024, the Director of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI), senior researcher Dr. Modris Greitāns, Deputy Director of Development Dr. Kaspars Ozols, senior researchers Dr. Jānis Ārents and Dr. Rihards Novickis, and researcher Pēteris Račinskis participate in the Electronic Components and Systems Forum (EFECS) in Ghent, Belgium (https://efecs.adriacongrex.it/). During the event, participants are introduced to the latest trends in the field of electronic components and systems, the “Chip Act,” pilot lines of the “Chips for Europe” initiative, IPCEI, ICOS, as well as success stories from various projects and other initiatives. Additionally, several workshops are organized, and networking opportunities are provided. Finally, several research projects in which EDI is a partner are also presented during the event, including AI4CSM, PowerizeD, A-IQ Ready, EdgeAI, Sustronics, ARCHIMEDES, R-PODID, EcoMobility, and AIMS5.0.

During the event, M.Greitāns, J.Ārents and P.Račinskis participate in presenting the EdgeAI project stand to other attendees, as well as looking for opportunities to leverage the know-how generated in the EdgeAI project in future Horizon Europe projects.
