EDI collaborated with Rukola Ltd. on two research projects in 2023 and 2004 to implement a novel mathematical algorithm for precise and reliable time event detection in fixed-distance amateur sports competitions, to be used for a new-generation timing solution “RACE-TRIBE”. These projects were implemented by EDI leading researcher Kārlis Freivalds and software engineer Makss Meiers who developed an accurate mathematical model of the “RACE-TRIBE” sensor measurements and a fitting algorithm yielding precise results even in the presence of overwhelming noise.
As a direct result of these projects, EDI was able to achieve 2x higher time event detection accuracy over the previous solution which is a very significant improvement. Integrating the algorithm into the “RACE-TRIBE” software greatly enhances its overall functionality leaving Rukola Ltd. highly satisfied.
