On July 5-6, 2023, Dr. sc. comp. Modris Greitāns and Dr. Armands Ancāns participated in the kick-off event of the Horizon Europe / KDT JU program project “Sustainable and green electronics for the circular economy” (SUSTRONICS) in Best, the Netherlands.

The objective of the SUSTRONICS project is to support the European renewable electronics industry in the areas of circular economy, eco-design, biomaterials, and efficient manufacturing processes. It brings together 46 partners from 11 countries, with a total project budget of approximately 30 million euros.

As part of the project, the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science will develop guidelines and a method for standardized manufacturing technology of wearable sensor interconnections. Additionally, they will create a demonstration device for energy-efficient bioimpedance measurement using sustainable material electrodes.
