Abstract: The article proposes and studies a mathematical model for the determination of the basic electrophysical properties of a dielectric object presented as a single layer with ground-penetrating radar signals. The model algorithm uses the values of reflection amplitudes from the front and rear edges of the object, their ratio, and the mutual time shift as the main initial physical data to find the relative permittivity of the studied object and the loss tangent.
